The Fast Park family of offsite airport parking companies launches its seventh annual Canned Food Drive from September 8 through September 30 in support of National Hunger Action Month. Local collections will take place in 13 markets across the United States including Albuquerque, Austin, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Houston, Indianapolis, Memphis, Miami, Milwaukee, Orlando, Raleigh and Tucson. Miami donations will benefit the Salvation Army Miami. All other markets will partner with its local Feeding America food bank (the largest food bank network in the country). As in years past, Fast Park will donate one dollar for every pound of nonperishable food donated by customers.

“This event brings together our customers and employees at all of our 16 facilities every year,” said Melanie Chavez, executive vice president of construction and branding. “We are in business thanks to our local communities and this is our way of giving back to support those in need in each of our markets.”

According to Feeding America, one out of eight people are struggling with hunger. Since the annual drive began in 2007, Fast Park has collected close to 30,000 pounds and donated more than $27,000 in cash to support the needs of hungry families.
