The Fast Park family of offsite airport parking companies launches its eighth annual Canned Food Drive from October 5 through October 30. Local collections will take place in 13 markets across the United States including Albuquerque, Austin, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Houston, Indianapolis, Memphis, Miami, Milwaukee, Orlando, Raleigh and Tucson. Miami donations will benefit the Salvation Army Miami and Albuquerque donations will benefit St. Felix Pantry. All other markets will partner with its local Feeding America food bank (the largest food bank network in the country). As in years past, Fast Park will donate one dollar for every pound of nonperishable food donated by customers.

“Giving back to our communities is an important initiative company-wide at Fast Park,” said Melanie Chavez, executive vice president of construction and branding. “According to our partner, Feeding America, 16 million children face hunger in the U.S. today—that’s one in five children. It’s a heartbreaking fact that we can’t turn our backs on which is why our annual food drive is so special to us.”

According to Feeding America, one out of eight people are struggling with hunger. Since the annual drive began in 2007, Fast Park has collected close to 40,000 pounds and donated more than $37,000 in cash to support the needs of hungry families.
