Since 1999, the Skytrax World Airport Awards have recognized airports that received the best ratings the largest annual global airport customer satisfaction survey. This year, more than 14 million people responded to the questionnaire from 106 nations ranking 550 airports across the world. Respondents ranked airports across 39 categories, including getting to and from the airport, public transportation options, efficiency and prices, terminal comfort, friendliness of airport staff, available children’s play areas and more.

Singapore Changi Airport was named the World’s Best Airport for the fourth year in a row in March. Skytrax also named the Best Airports in North America and we’re pretty familiar with a few of them. Our Cincinnati staff was thrilled to see the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) ranked third on the list and our Atlanta staff was equally excited to see that the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) ranked fifth.

The ease of service and smaller size (for easy navigation) make CVG a great airport to travel through. The airport also has some great local flavor, including Gold Star Chili and Graeters ice cream and pastries. As our “home” airport, we love seeing CVG get national love.

While the ATL is one of the largest airports, it has incredible amenities including opportunities to shop at high-end retailers and great food options including one of its most famous restaurants, One Flew South. ATL is also unique in that it recently introduced a multisensory room for autistic children. While traveling can be stressful, it can be even more stressful for those with autism. The room is filled with a mini ball pit, bubbling water sculpture and more to help calm and prepare young travelers. We think that’s amazing.
