Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) welcomes travelers with the same distinctive character and culture as its home city. Sweet smells of barbeque and Tex Mex fill the terminals, and busy travelers dance along to live music performed on stages throughout the airport.

AUS is home to 15 major airlines, including Alaska, America, Delta and Southwest and serves travelers out of two main terminals.

Before you go: Park at our AUS facility and we’ll get you to the terminal in less than 10 minutes. Our facility is unique as the amazing city it serves with on-site environmental efforts, including a longhorn cattle program and a commissioned piece of artwork that serves as our facility entrance sign.

What to eat: Austin is known for its good eatin’, and AUS offers plenty of options to sample the city. Salt Lick Bar-B-Que is a family-owned favorite with great Central Texas barbecue located between Gate 12 and 13 in the Barbara Jordan Terminal. If a burger and brew is more up your alley, try Saxon Pub – a dive bar with live music that has its own branch at the airport (Gate 5). For a quick bite or pick-me-up, try homemade ice cream that’s flipped, mixed, chopped and tossed at Amy’s Ice Creams, or pour yourself some much-needed caffeine at the Cuvee Coffee cart near Gate 5. Austin’s best coffee kiosk is run on the honor system, so take cash if you plan to stop. The South Terminal features an outdoor patio area with food trucks. Traveler’s tip: This is a great place to grab a bite if you’re traveling with a pet. The patio includes a pet relief area.

Live music capital: Austin is the live music capital of the world and travelers can catch local musicians at several venues throughout the airport. “Music in the Air” features five live music stages and about 23 live performances each week. You can find the latest schedule here.

“Keep Austin Weird”: In addition to its killer cuisine and music, AUS stays authentic to its roots with unique shopping and entertainment opportunities for travelers. AUS hosts permanent and rotating art exhibits in the Barbara Jordan Terminal and plenty of places to purchase a souvenir. Austin City Limits/Waterloo Records and Video in Gate 15 sells thousands of CDs and DVDs along with gear and clothing. Austin Warehouse District (named after an Austin hot-spot) in Gate 9 features eclectic T-shirts
