The Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI) is a major hub just 45 minutes outside of our nation’s capital. Situated outside of Baltimore, this airport has a lot to offer passengers from near and far. It spans across approximately 3,000+ acres and houses five concourses (four domestic and one international).

Before you go: Park at our BWI facility and we’ll get you to the terminal in under 10 minutes. From covered parking to a complimentary newspaper and bottle of water, we’ll start and end your trip on the right foot.

Getting around: BWI is relatively easy to navigate, as the terminals are u-shaped and connected. Use this handy gate map to make sure you know where you’re going before you get there.

Interesting facts: Stay active during a long layover by hopping on a bicycle and ride the BWI trail.

What to eat: There are some great options at BWI to get the local Baltimore fare. Check out Obrycki’s Restaurant and Bar for steamed crabs on concourse B or Phillip’s Seafood, a Maryland staple for 50-plus years, on concourse A/B. If you’re looking for something a little faster, try California Tortilla. The chain from Bethesda, MD is a favorite for its burritos, tacos and more. G&M Restaurant and Lounge is a must for crab cake lovers. It’s just a few miles from the airport for “crabby” travelers.

Where to shop: While not as big of a shopping hub as some other airports, BWI has its fair share of popular shops like Brooks Brothers, Pandora, Victoria’s Secret, The Body Shop and Swarovski.

Find your calm: BWI, like many other major airports, offers a meditation room so travelers can enjoy a quiet place to relax before taking off. Find this special room on the upper level between concourses D and E.

Take time to play: If you’re traveling with little ones, check out the observation gallery adjacent to the B/C security checkpoint. This space is open to the public and located before the security checkpoint. The gallery is filled with special objects and fun exhibits for children to look at and play with. This is also a great stop to charge your phone or laptop before you head through security and to your gate.
