Trying new fine wines can be a great addition to your vacation schedule. When most travelers think of wine destinations, the usual spots are top of mind – Napa Valley or Bordeaux, France to name two. But you can find great wine all over the U.S. and abroad.
If you like to sample regional wines, Redbook Magazine has a list of the Top 10 spots in the U.S. Destinations like Finger Lakes, N.Y.; Louisville, Ky.; and Willamette Valley, Ore. make the list for their great wines and scenic locations.
For wine lovers who want off-the-beaten-path suggestions, Mother Nature Network lists seven lesser-known U.S. wine regions. From Colorado’s western slope and Columbia Valley, Wash. to Texas Hill Country and Lake Erie wine country, travelers are sure to find a unique regional wine they love.
International jetsetters should check out Wine Enthusiast’s list of best wine destinations for 2013. This list includes well-known spots like Rioja, Spain and Monterey County, Calif. as well as out of the way destinations, such as Danube, Australia and Vale dos Vinhedos, Brazil.
